HAVE THE SHELS GONE TO THE DOGS?
- reporter David Cotton

On Saturday 7th November, Jon, Naz, Simon, Justin, Cotty, the two Stu's and Robbie "G'day" Miller traveled to Great Yarmouth Stadium.

Having been delayed by Mizon's empty stomach and a visit to the chip shop and Jon's trip to the off-licence in Dickleburgh and a minibus that went faster in reverse, we finally arrived at the track at 7.40 p.m.

Having left the bus in what appeared to be the car park it wasn't until we walked across the carpet in the bar that we realised we had actually parked in a ploughed field, but the tracks made it easier to find Naz.

Having consulted Mizon because he's a bit of an expert on dogs(?), the lads placed their bets...and lost!

It was at this point that Cotty pulled out a piece of paper with the names of some fancied runners he copied from the E.D.P.

Having to endure some derision, the manager promptly won 7 of the following 11 races and pocketed £45.

After filling up on fast food the lads were amazed that so many dogs were sh*tting before races, they must have had the horrid onions on their burgers as well.

After collecting a kitty of £16 for the last race, Cotty was asked for his expert advice. Having picked number '6' to win the lads returned to the bar after it came nowhere.

Naz having removed the final clods of dirt from his shoes disappeared without trace only to be found a short time later writing the lads names on a 'Tic-Tac' man's board. Simon won by a short length.

Having left Yarmouth behind, we traveled into Norwich and sampled the delights of 'Squares' where Aussie Rob, Simon and Mizon showed off their dancing skills to the general public.

Feeling rather hungry, we walked up the most dangerous road in Norfolk to find some food.

Once inside Robbie tried to make friends with a sailor and a clown but was bemused by their unfriendly nature.

Returning to the mini-bus, Aussie rob was whistled at by a car full of ladies making sign language with their fingers, so he promptly dropped his strides and showed he hadn't lost his ball control down under!

That concluded another great Shels night out.
